What happened in the Connaught Place case?
Shivam Gupta, a 36-year-old businessman from Laxmi Nagar, lost his life after a brutal attack near Rajiv Chowk Metro Station. The incident occurred on January 3, 2026, but the victim succumbed to his injuries on January 19 while undergoing treatment.
Reports indicate that a minor argument broke out between Shivam and some food delivery riders, possibly over asking for water or a bike collision. The riders allegedly used their helmets to beat him severely, causing fatal head injuries. Police have arrested two suspects and are investigating the role of a third person.
How was the Railway employee killed in Gulabi Bagh?
In a shocking incident at the Railway Colony near Sabzi Mandi, the body of 39-year-old Sandeep Kumar Malviya was found on February 2. Sandeep worked as a technician in the Railways and had been missing since late January.
Police have apprehended a 17-year-old minor from Ghaziabad in connection with this crime. During the investigation, the minor claimed that he attacked Sandeep with a gas cylinder and a sharp object in self-defense against an alleged sexual assault attempt. Another violent incident took place in East Delhi on the evening of February 2. Arun Raj, a 22-year-old delivery boy, was stabbed to death in the Acharya Niketan area of Pandav Nagar.
According to the police, three minors arrived on a bike and attacked Arun with knives after a brief argument. The victim suffered multiple wounds to his chest and neck. He was declared dead at the hospital. Police have detained three juveniles in this case, and initial reports suggest old enmity as a possible reason.
