Fines and rules for walking on metro tracks
Entering the metro tracks is dangerous and strictly prohibited under the Delhi Metro Railway (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002. Passengers should be aware of the penalties associated with such actions.
- Unlawful Entry: A fine of ₹150 is imposed for entering tracks without permission (Section 64).
- Obstructing Duty: If the act stops staff from working, the fine is ₹500 (Section 68).

Offenders who do not pay these fines are handed over to the Delhi Metro Rail Police (DMRP) for further legal action.
