The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has commissioned its largest fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station at the Anand Vihar station on April 3, 2026. This facility is a major addition to the 82.15 km Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor, which became fully operational in February 2026. The station is designed to support the growing number of electric vehicle users and promote green mobility across the region.
Capacity and Performance of the Anand Vihar Station
The new facility at Anand Vihar is equipped with ten high-voltage charging units, each having a capacity of 480 kW. This setup allows up to ten electric vehicles, including private cars and heavy commercial vehicles, to charge at high speed simultaneously. Commuters can expect their vehicles to reach approximately 80% charge in about 30 minutes, making it highly efficient for daily travelers. The initiative aims to reduce pollution levels while enhancing last-mile connectivity for RRTS passengers.
How to Access and Use the Charging Services
EV owners can access these services through the ElectreeFi mobile application, which is available on the Google Play Store. The app provides features such as user registration, online slot booking, real-time monitoring of charging status, and digital payment options. While specific prices for the Anand Vihar station have not been detailed, public fast charging in India generally ranges from ₹18 to ₹22 per kWh. The Delhi EV Policy also supports such initiatives by offering subsidies for charging points in the city.
Network Coverage and Project Timeline
With the opening of the Anand Vihar facility, EV charging services are now available at eight stations along the Delhi-Meerut corridor. The project has reached several milestones since the priority section opened in 2023. The following table shows the expansion of the corridor and charging network over the years.
