Progress and official updates on the project
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for this project on August 6, 2023, as part of a larger plan for 21 stations in Telangana. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the work at Ramagundam was completed and showcased as a model Amrit Station by March 2026. The Ministry of Railways highlighted the station as a prime example of the South Central Railway zone modernization drive.
The redevelopment ensures that the station can handle the increasing footfall while providing comfort to thousands of daily passengers. With the completion of these works, Ramagundam joins the list of 180 stations nationwide that have successfully finished their first phase of redevelopment. The project focuses on long term growth and continuous development of the railway network in the region.
