- Better station access and improved parking areas for vehicles.
- Upgraded station buildings with modern waiting halls and clean toilets.
- Installation of lifts and escalators for the convenience of senior citizens and Divyangjans.
- Wider foot overbridges and better platform surfacing for safety.
- Advanced passenger information systems and modern signage.
- Provision of kiosks under the One Station One Product scheme to promote local goods.
Progress of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme in Karnataka
The Ministry of Railways has identified 55 stations in Karnataka for redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Alnavar Junction is one of the stations where the transformation work was completed by March 12, 2026. Across India, work at 180 stations has been finished under this master plan. The scheme focuses on phased implementation to improve station buildings, integrate them with both sides of the city, and provide sustainable solutions like ballastless tracks where necessary. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has highlighted that these initiatives are aimed at providing 21st century facilities to the common man.
