Production and rollout timeline for new rakes
Indian Railways has already started the process of manufacturing these upgraded rakes at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. The Ministry of Railways plans to introduce 50 such trains over the next two years to replace older LHB coaches on major routes. Officials confirmed that seven Amrit Bharat 3.0 rakes are currently under production, with two expected to be ready for service by April 2026. This version will also see the introduction of air-conditioned coaches alongside the non-AC variants.
