The station building has been replaced with a new structure that includes an attractive facade inspired by local culture and heritage. Major improvements include platform resurfacing and the installation of clear signage to help travelers navigate the station premises easily. The master plan ensures that the station acts as a city center, connecting both sides of the city for smoother traffic flow and better access. Key upgrades include the following:

Launched by the Ministry of Railways, this scheme focuses on continuous development with a long-term vision for station upgrades. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the redevelopment of 508 stations in August 2023, and the work at Anandpur Sahib reflects the progress of this national mission.
