What were the demands in the email?
The email was sent to the Principal District and Sessions Judge by a person identifying himself as Aman Kumar. He claimed to be an inspector from a new branch of the CBI-SIB and even mentioned links to the LTTE. The sender listed specific grievances in the message.
He demanded the implementation of the 1979 Police Commission report. The email also complained about the alleged mistreatment of police constables in Tamil Nadu, citing forced menial labor. A case has been registered with the Cyber Cell to trace the sender’s IP address.
Impact on court work and security measures
The threat disrupted normal proceedings for the entire day. The scheduled bail hearing of Independent MP Pappu Yadav could not take place and was postponed to Tuesday. Senior police officials, including the SSP and City DSP, monitored the situation from the Control and Command Center.
Security teams checked every corner of the court, including chambers and washrooms. They paid special attention to the parking area. Following this incident, a mandatory security audit has been ordered for all civil courts. Authorities are planning to install boom barriers and flap barriers at entry points.
