The Punarakh and Kiul third and fourth rail line project will boost track capacity, while the new Bhagalpur bypass aims to reduce engine reversal delays. These developments are targeted for completion by 2030-31 under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
The Bullet Train project in Bihar is also making progress with a survey team from the High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited. This survey is expected to begin in July-August, and the Detailed Project Report will be prepared within this financial year. Additionally, new lines like Sitamarhi-Nirmali and Nawada-Laxmipur will extend connectivity to underserved regions and tribal areas to help locals access better markets and healthcare.
