North Central Railway has introduced a new strategy to tackle heavy passenger rush on the Delhi route. When regular trains reach a ‘No Room’ status, a Clone Special Train will be operated to provide relief to waiting passengers. This service is designed to manage the crowd specifically on the Prayagraj to Delhi corridor and will act as a relief measure during peak demand.
How will the Clone Special Train operate?
The Clone Special Train is a replica of the original train and follows a similar schedule to accommodate extra passengers. Unlike the standard Prayagraj Express, this special service will conclude its journey at Dadri station instead of New Delhi. This decision aims to reduce congestion at major terminals while ensuring passengers reach the National Capital Region effectively. The train will be triggered based on real-time booking data when ticket availability ends.
Key features of the new railway initiative
- Train will start immediately once the primary train reaches No Room status
- Focuses on the high-demand route between Prayagraj and Delhi
- Destination shifted to Dadri station to manage platform availability
- Aims to eliminate long waiting lists for daily commuters
- Operated by North Central Railway as an emergency measure
By terminating at Dadri, the railway seeks to optimize track usage and platform occupancy in the busy New Delhi area. Passengers can use local transport or suburban trains to cover the remaining distance to the main city. This system ensures that more people can travel on their desired dates even when the main train is fully booked.
