Sleeper Vande Bharat Trains Introduction
Sleeper Vande Bharat trains are highly anticipated across India, with plans for their launch expected soon. Currently, Vande Bharat trains featuring chair cars are operational on various routes, contributing positively to the image of Indian Railways. In an exciting development this month, the Railways has initiated two Vande India trains, each equipped with 20 coaches. Previously, Vande Bharat trains had either 16 or 8 coaches, and the increase in coach numbers means greater capacity for passenger travel on these popular trains.
New Routes and Increased Capacity
According to a report from ‘ET Now’, the newly introduced 20-coach Vande Bharat Express trains will replace the existing 16-coach Vande India trains. These two trains will operate within the Southern Railway (SR) and South Central Railway (SCR) Zones. Specifically, one 20-coach train will run on the Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kasargod route, and the other will service the Visakhapatnam-Sikandrabad route. With this upgrade, the total seating capacity has increased from 1,128 to 1,440 passengers.
Operational Details of the New Trains
The Vande Bharat train on the Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kasargod route, identified as train number 20634/20633, covers a distance of 588 kilometers in approximately eight hours and five minutes.
