Indian Railways has announced a change in the route of the Gandhidham-Bhagalpur Special Express trains due to a mega traffic and power block in the Northern Railway zone. This decision was taken to facilitate construction work at Lucknow Junction, including foundation work for the concourse and the removal of platform shelters. For the convenience of passengers during this period, these trains will now halt at Aishbagh and Badshahnagar stations on specific dates.
Key Details of Train Diversion and Schedule
- Train 09451 (Gandhidham to Bhagalpur) will run on a diverted route on April 3 and April 10.
- Train 09452 (Bhagalpur to Gandhidham) will follow the changed route on April 6.
- The trains will travel via Manaknagar, Aishbagh, and Malhaur instead of their regular path.
- A temporary stop of two minutes each has been provided at Aishbagh and Badshahnagar stations to assist commuters.
Reason for Operational Changes
The changes are a result of a mega traffic and power block scheduled between April 4 and April 11. This block is necessary for technical upgrades at Lucknow Junction, specifically for concourse foundation work and platform shelter adjustments. Railway officials have advised passengers to verify train timings and routes before starting their journey, as the diversion may lead to slight changes in the overall travel time. The administration has implemented these alternative arrangements to ensure minimal disruption to passenger services while completing essential infrastructure work.
