New Train Configurations
The Indian Railway administration has announced a permanent change in the rake structure for three pairs of express trains. Starting from April 16, 2025, the 19165/19166 Ahmedabad-Darbhanga-Ahmedabad Express will feature a new configuration departing from Ahmedabad, and from April 19, 2025, from Darbhanga. The updated rake will include 1 first-class air-conditioned coach, 2 air-conditioned second-class coaches, 4 air-conditioned third-class coaches, 2 air-conditioned third economy coaches, 7 sleeper class coaches, 4 general second-class coaches, 1 LSLRD (Luggage and Brake Van), and a generator cum luggage vehicle. In total, the train will comprise 22 coaches, including one co-luxury vehicle.
Ahmedabad-Varanasi City Express Update
In conjunction with the new rake structure, the 19167/19168 Ahmedabad-Varanasi City-Ahmedabad Express will also be reconfigured. The changes will take effect from April 14, 2025, from Ahmedabad, and from April 17, 2025, from Varanasi City. The new rake for this train will consist of 1 first-class air-conditioned coach, 2 air-conditioned second-class coaches, 4 air-conditioned third-class coaches, 2 air-conditioned third economy coaches, 7 sleeper class coaches, 4 general second-class coaches, and 1 LSLRD. Similar to the Ahmedabad-Darbhanga Express, this train will also feature a total of 22 coaches, including a generator cum luggage vehicle.
Ahmedabad-Gorakhpur Express Configuration
The Ahmedabad-Gorakhpur-Ahmedabad Express (19489/19490) will undergo a similar restructuring, effective from April 19, 2025, from Ahmedabad, and from April 20, 2025. This train will include 1 first-class air-conditioned coach, 2 air-conditioned second-class coaches, 4 air-conditioned third-class coaches, 2 air-conditioned third economy coaches, 7 sleeper class coaches, 4 general second-class coaches, and 1 LSLRD. The total coach count will also be 22, incorporating a generator cum luggage vehicle in its composition.
