Indian Railways is moving ahead with the Lalkuan-Sitarganj rail line project in Uttarakhand to improve regional connectivity. MP Ajay Bhatt announced that the detailed project report worth 1546 crore is now complete and the tender process will start shortly. This project was discussed during a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) held at the Nainital Club.
Key details of the Lalkuan-Sitarganj rail line project
The project is designed to strengthen the transport network between Lalkuan and Sitarganj, covering a total distance of approximately 63 kilometers. The railway department has prepared the technical framework and the budget is set at 1546 crore for the construction phase. This line will serve as a crucial link for both passengers and industrial goods movement in the Kumaon region.
