Latehar Road Accident: A tragic road accident occurred in Latehar district, Jharkhand on Sunday. An uncontrolled reserve bus from Chhattisgarh overturned in Orsa Ghati under Mahuadand police station area. According to villagers, five people have died in the accident, and more than 30 people have been injured, with some in critical condition. The injured have been admitted to different hospitals. The accident was so severe that almost all passengers on the bus sustained injuries. They were all en route to Maharajganj village in Balrampur, Chhattisgarh for a wedding program. Police and local residents are involved in rescue operations.
The reserve bus overturned as soon as it reached the Ghati area, prompting locals to inform the authorities and initiate immediate relief efforts. Mahuadand SDM Vipin Kumar Dubey alerted the administration and health department, directing them to start rescue and relief operations. Health teams with ambulances from Mahuadand, Garu, and Netarhat reached the scene as per the SDM’s instructions. The injured have been admitted to Mahuadand hospital for treatment, and others have been shifted to different hospitals for medical care.
Local residents also helped transport the injured to hospitals using their private vehicles, displaying acts of kindness. SDM Vipin Kumar Dubey mentioned that as soon as information was received, the health department team was sent to the scene, and the injured were immediately taken to hospitals for treatment. More than 30 injured individuals are currently receiving medical care. Official information on the number of casualties and the condition of the injured will be provided after medical examinations.
