Western Railway has announced the extension of the Mumbai Central-Katihar Weekly Summer Special train to accommodate the heavy passenger rush during the vacation season. This decision follows the Indian Ministry of Railways’ initiative to manage overcrowding on long-distance routes.
Extended Dates and New Timings
The extension applies to both train numbers 09189 and 09190. These trains will continue to run on their scheduled weekly days. The service is designed to provide a direct and convenient travel option for people traveling between Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar during the peak summer months.
- Train No. 09189: It will depart from Mumbai Central every Saturday at 10:55 AM, reaching Katihar at 07:30 AM on Monday. This extension is valid from May 16 to July 25, 2026.
- Train No. 09190: It will depart from Katihar every Tuesday at 00:15 AM, arriving at Mumbai Central at 18:40 PM on Wednesday. This extension is valid from May 19 to July 28, 2026.
