The Indian Railways has approved three new train services to address the heavy passenger rush in Bihar. The Railway Board has officially sanctioned the Patna-Ahmedabad Amrit Bharat Express, Patna-Rajgir Express, and Saharsa-Jamalpur MEMU. These trains are expected to improve connectivity for migrants, students, and daily commuters across the state. While the routes and timings have been finalized, the official dates for the commencement of regular operations will be announced soon.
Patna Ahmedabad Amrit Bharat Express Schedule and Route
The Railway Board has introduced train number 21905/21906 to provide a direct connection between Patna and Ahmedabad. This non-AC Amrit Bharat service is designed to offer a faster and more affordable travel option for long-distance passengers.
| Train Number | Route | Departure Time | Arrival Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 21905 | Ahmedabad to Patna (Wednesdays) | 06:30 PM | 12:30 AM (Thursday) |
| 21906 | Patna to Ahmedabad (Fridays) | 10:30 PM | 05:25 AM (Sunday) |
The train will have major stoppages at Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Agra, Tundla, and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction. It is important to note that the train will not stop at Ara Junction, a decision made by the railway administration to keep the travel time short for long-distance commuters.
New Regional Services for Rajgir and Saharsa
In addition to the long-distance express, two regional trains have been approved to strengthen local connectivity within Bihar. These services will cater to the Kosi and Ang regions as well as the tourist circuit of Rajgir.
- Patna-Rajgir Express (13354/13353): This train will depart Patna at 09:20 AM and reach Rajgir at 12:45 PM. The return service leaves Rajgir at 03:10 PM and arrives in Patna at 06:45 PM.
- Saharsa-Jamalpur MEMU (63398/63397): The MEMU service will depart Saharsa at 05:15 AM and reach Jamalpur at 08:05 AM. The return journey will start from Jamalpur at 09:45 PM and reach Saharsa at 01:00 AM.
The introduction of these trains is expected to reduce the pressure on road transport and provide an economical mode of travel for daily workers and students. The Railway Board director Sanjay R. Neelam issued the official letter regarding these approvals to ensure better revenue and passenger management.
