Major deficiencies identified during the station inspection
The PCCM expressed strong dissatisfaction over the broken tiles and general lack of cleanliness at the Kahalgaon railway station. He issued strict instructions to the staff to repair the flooring and improve the sanitation standards across the premises. Additionally, he directed the officials to enhance the drinking water facilities, as the current arrangements were found to be inadequate for the daily volume of passengers.
Key focus areas for future development
During his interaction with travelers, Dr. Jha collected feedback on the problems they face during their commute. He highlighted the importance of station growth and passenger discipline through the following measures:
- Expansion of platforms to handle more coaches and passengers comfortably
- Development of vacant railway land for better infrastructure utility
- Direct appeal to the public to travel only with valid tickets
- Regular monitoring of construction quality under the Amrit Bharat Scheme
The visit concluded with a clear mandate to the station authorities to resolve all highlighted issues within a specified timeframe. Dr. Jha emphasized that the passenger experience must remain the top priority for the commercial department.
