Namo Bharat and Amrit Bharat Trains
The Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnav, announced the upcoming operation of the Namo Bharat train, which will run between Muzaffarpur and Patna. The Indian Railways is preparing to launch 50 Namo Bharat trains designed for short-distance travel. In addition, the Amrit Bharat train service is being developed for longer routes, such as the journey from Muzaffarpur to Delhi, with plans to introduce 100 Amrit Bharat trains for these extended distances.
Infrastructure Development at Muzaffarpur Junction
During his visit to Muzaffarpur on Sunday evening, following the inauguration of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) in Bettiah, the Railway Minister emphasized the ongoing efforts to upgrade Muzaffarpur Junction to a world-class facility. This extensive project, which is budgeted at 442 crore, is expected to be completed by December 2026, enhancing the infrastructure and services available to passengers.
Improved Connectivity for Passengers
The operation of the Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express trains from Muzaffarpur is set to significantly improve travel times for passengers. With these new services, travelers will be able to reach Kolkata in just six hours and Delhi in twelve hours, marking a considerable enhancement in connectivity for the region.
