New Entry Arrangements at New Delhi Railway Station
To manage the anticipated crowd during the Diwali and Chhath festivals, the Railways has introduced new arrangements at the New Delhi Railway Station. Passengers without reservations will not be permitted to board reserved coaches this season. Special entry provisions have been established to streamline access to the station, thereby enhancing safety and convenience for all travelers.
Strict Regulations for Ticketless Passengers
A designated entry point has been set up for ticketless passengers, who will access the platform via gate number 12 and will be guided to platform number 16 through a clearly marked green path. To ensure comfort, facilities such as water, fans, and lights have been installed in this area. Additionally, police personnel will assist in directing these passengers to their general coaches using ropes, effectively mitigating the risk of stampede-like situations.
Special Provisions for Reserved Passengers
Passengers holding reservations can enter through gates number 7 and 10. For those who arrive at the station ahead of their train’s scheduled departure, a separate holding area has been established for their convenience. In the event that the number of ticketless passengers becomes excessively high, the Railways will operate all four major trains—Bihar Sampark Kranti (12566), Sampoorna Kranti (12394), Vaishali Express (12554), and Purushottam Express (12802)—as completely unreserved. This initiative aims to facilitate seating for passengers and manage crowd levels effectively.
