Incident at Nashik Road Station

Those who pull the alarm chain without any valid reason while traveling by train need to exercise caution. The Central Railway has reported a case against an individual accused of unnecessarily pulling the alarm chain at Nashik Road station in Maharashtra. The incident occurred at 6:44 PM on Platform No. 2 involving Train No. 22221 Down Rajdhani Express, causing the train to halt for three minutes, until 6:47 PM.

Details of the Incident

The passenger involved, 53-year-old Tapas Monindra Mohari, was traveling from Nashik to Mathura with his wife, Kajal Tapas Mohari, and daughter, Khushi. During their journey, a man named Sanjeev Ratan Chand Patharia, who was purchasing platform tickets, encountered difficulties in exiting the train on time. In an attempt to assist him, Sanjeev pulled the alarm chain, prompting the train to stop. Subsequently, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel took Sanjeev into custody, where he admitted to pulling the alarm chain without a valid reason.

Legal Consequences

A case has been registered against Sanjeev Ratan Chand under Section 141 of the Railway Act. Ongoing investigations are being conducted regarding this incident. It is important to note that railway passengers are strictly prohibited from pulling the alarm chain during travel without a valid reason, as doing so may lead to legal repercussions under the Railway Act. In an unrelated event, a tragic accident occurred in Korba, Chhattisgarh, where a laborer died due to a mudslide during railway construction, and another was seriously injured. Police are currently investigating this matter as well.
