Ticket Demand During Holi
The upcoming Holi festival has led to a significant surge in demand for train tickets, especially for routes between New Delhi and Bihar. With long waiting lists forming on all trains, travelers are facing considerable challenges in securing their tickets. The situation is exacerbated by a steep increase in flight fares, which have risen two to three times their normal rates. Additionally, bus services have been operating continuously, but all seats have been fully booked in advance. As a result, many individuals trying to reach Bihar for the festival are growing increasingly frustrated and are willing to pay exorbitant amounts for last-minute tickets.
Special Trains to Bihar
In response to the overwhelming demand during Holi, the Indian Railways has announced the operation of six pairs of special trains from New Delhi to various destinations in Bihar. Currently, there are available seats in these special trains, but early booking is essential to secure a spot. The special trains will enhance passenger convenience and facilitate travel for those heading home to celebrate Holi, as well as for those returning to work afterward. The train schedules will remain consistent with previous operations, making it easier for travelers to plan their journeys.
Details of Special Train Services
The special trains include several routes, such as the Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi Clone Special, which will operate from March 1 to March 31, running six days a week. Other routes include the Danapur-Anand Vihar Special and the Gaya-Anand Vihar Special, both scheduled to run every Sunday during March. Additionally, the Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar Special will operate on Saturdays, while the Saharsa-Anand Vihar Special will run five days a week, excluding Thursdays and Saturdays. These expanded train services aim to accommodate the increased travel demand during the Holi festival and ensure smoother transportation for passengers.
