The Dausa railway station has been upgraded at a cost of approximately 15.17 crore rupees. The redevelopment focused on making the station more accessible and modern for the 14,742 daily passengers who use this route. The station building now features a completely renovated facade reflecting local heritage and culture. Key improvements include:
- New Foot Over Bridge: A new FOB with ramps and covering sheds built at a cost of 4.10 crore rupees.
- Accessibility: Two lifts have been installed for easier movement between platforms for elderly and common passengers.
- Passenger Comfort: Separate entry and exit gates, modern waiting rooms, and clean toilet blocks.
- Divyangjan Facilities: Specialized help booths, toilets, water booths, and ramps are now functional.
- Parking: Dedicated spaces for two-wheelers and four-wheelers have been created for better traffic management.
Key features of the 140 crore Jaisalmer station redevelopment
The Jaisalmer railway station has been rebuilt using local yellow sandstone to preserve its historic architectural identity. This project connects the city’s rich heritage with high-tech passenger services. The station is now equipped with 10 lifts and 10 escalators to ensure smooth foot traffic. Two new foot over bridges of 6 meters width have also been constructed to connect platforms. More than 10,000 square meters of platform area has been covered with sheds to protect passengers from extreme weather.
