Indian Railways has scheduled essential technical repair and track maintenance work at Sabarmati Station on April 13 and 14. This infrastructure development will lead to the partial cancellation and diversion of several important train services passing through this route. Passengers are advised to check the latest updates before starting their journey to avoid any inconvenience during these two days.
Affected trains and service changes
The North Western Railway has announced specific changes for trains originating from or passing through the Jodhpur division. These changes include partial cancellations and route diversions to allow the technical team to carry out maintenance safely.
| Train Number | Train Name | Status/Update |
|---|---|---|
| 14821/14822 | Jodhpur-Sabarmati Express | Partially cancelled, will run only up to Abu Road |
| 19032 | Yoga Express | Diverted to Sabarmati A Cabin instead of Sabarmati Station |
| 22497 | Humsafar Express | Diverted via Khodiyar, Chandlodiya B Cabin, and Sabarmati A Cabin |
Why is this work being carried out?
These temporary changes are part of routine infrastructure maintenance aimed at ensuring the safety and efficiency of railway operations. Significant work related to the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project is also ongoing near Sabarmati, which occasionally requires traffic blocks on existing lines. DRM Anurag Tripathi of the Jodhpur division noted that such technical repairs are necessary for long-term track stability. Similar maintenance work was also recently conducted on the Madar-Palanpur section to improve rail traffic flow.
