South Eastern Railway has notified a temporary stoppage for 10 trains at Gidhni station to manage the passenger rush during the upcoming festival season. This arrangement will remain in place from April 12 to April 18 to help devotees attending the Shri Shri Thakur Anukul Chandra Ji festival. Important trains like the Steel Express and Ispat Express are part of this update. Each of these trains will stop for two minutes at the station to facilitate the travel of devotees.
Which trains are included in the new schedule?
The railway administration has included several express and MEMU trains in this temporary stoppage list to ensure smooth travel. The schedule covers both up and down lines for the convenience of passengers. Below are the key trains that will halt at Gidhni station during this period:
- 12813/12814 Howrah-Tatanagar Steel Express
- 12871/12872 Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express
- 22891/22892 Howrah-Ranchi Intercity Express
- 18033/18034 Howrah-Ghatshila MEMU Express
Why has the railway introduced these temporary halts?
This decision was taken in view of the Bengali New Year 1433 and the special Utsav of Thakur Anukul Chandra Ji. Large numbers of devotees travel to Gidhni for the Satsang program during these dates. The South Eastern Railway aims to provide direct access to the venue for these passengers. The two-minute halt is expected to prevent overcrowding at nearby stations and offer a comfortable journey for everyone attending the event. This arrangement is temporary and specific to the festival dates notified by the department.
