The North Eastern Railway administration has announced the operation of special trains from Azamgarh and Banaras to Mumbai to cater to the summer travel demand. These services will begin in early April 2026 and offer various seating options including AC 3-tier and sleeper classes. 1. Azamgarh to Bandra Terminus Special Train Schedule
The 05183 Azamgarh–Bandra Terminus Superfast Special is scheduled to run every Saturday from April 4 to July 11, 2026. The return journey, train number 05184, will operate every Monday from Bandra Terminus between April 6 and July 13, 2026. Senior Public Relations Officer Ashok Kumar confirmed that bookings for these services have already started.
- Route: Varanasi, Banaras, Mau, Aunrihar, Prayagraj, Agra, and Surat
- Coach Composition: 20 modern LHB coaches including 8 AC 3-tier economy and 8 sleeper class coaches
- Purpose: This special service is designed to manage the heavy passenger rush during the summer months
2. Banaras to LTT Service and Mahakal Express Updates
A bi-weekly special train between Banaras and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus will also be operational. Train number 01074 will depart from Banaras every Friday and Saturday from April 3 to May 2, 2026. In another update, the Kashi Mahakal Superfast Express will be augmented with extra capacity for specific dates.
