Sultanpur Railway Station has successfully completed the construction of a modern running room at a total cost of 1.97 crore rupees. This new facility is specifically designed to provide high-quality rest and recovery options for 397 Loco Pilots and Train Managers after their shifts. The project aims to replace the older 54-bed facility which was no longer sufficient for the needs of the railway staff.
Key facilities and structure of the new building
The newly constructed running room is built with a focus on hygiene and comfort for railway employees. It contains a total of 24 rooms that accommodate 48 beds in a spacious environment. Unlike the previous setup, this building includes dedicated areas for breakfast and full meals to ensure staff do not have to look elsewhere for food. The entire infrastructure is designed to help rail workers stay fresh for their next duty cycle.
Impact on railway operations and staff welfare
Proper rest for Loco Pilots and Train Managers is a critical factor in ensuring the safety of train operations. This new running room at Sultanpur provides a professional atmosphere for rest which was a long-standing demand of the staff. Authorities have confirmed that the facility will become operational very soon. This development is part of the ongoing improvements at Sultanpur station under various railway upgrade schemes.
