Railway rules and enforcement in premium trains
Railway officials stated that ticketless travel and rowdy behavior in premium trains like the Tejas Rajdhani will not be tolerated. Under the Railways Act, traveling in reserved coaches without a ticket attracts a penalty of the full fare plus a minimum of ₹250 or the actual fare, whichever is higher. In this specific case, the high fine reflects the premium nature of the Tejas service. The Malda Division has intensified these checks following complaints about unauthorized passengers entering AC compartments.
