The Ministry of Railways has shared the latest progress report on the redevelopment of Tirupati Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh. What are the latest construction updates at the station?
According to the official announcement, several key components of the project are now complete. These include the installation of Divyangjan-friendly toilets, an air concourse, and ramps for better accessibility. Additionally, new ticket and help booths have been set up to assist passengers. The south terminal building, a G+3 structure, has reached its final phase and is expected to be operational by April 2026.
Which facilities are currently under development?
While the south side nears completion, work on the north side is expected to continue for another year. The authorities are currently installing modern systems to enhance the overall passenger experience. These include 20 lifts and 22 escalators across the station premises. A dedicated parking facility in the southern basement will accommodate 200 cars and 300 two-wheelers.
