Introduction of Vande Bharat Train Services
Two new Vande Bharat train services are set to commence, connecting the capitals of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh’s capital, Bhopal. These trains, originating from the Rani Kamalapati railway station (RKMP), will enable smoother and timely travel between Patna and Lucknow, enhancing interstate connectivity among the three states. Railway officials have indicated that the schedule and fare details will be disclosed following the final approval from the Railway Board, with the Patna Railway Division overseeing the service to Patna and the Bhopal Division finalizing operational preparations.
Improved Travel Times
The introduction of the Vande Bharat Express will significantly reduce travel times between these cities. Currently, existing express trains take between 18 to 20 hours to cover the approximately 1005 km distance from Bhopal to Patna. In contrast, the new Vande Bharat Express is expected to complete this journey in just 12 to 13 hours, providing much-needed relief to passengers. For the route to Lucknow, the travel time will be reduced to just 6 to 8 hours, as opposed to the existing trains that take 10 to 12 hours.
Enhanced Comfort and Safety Features
The Vande Bharat Express will feature a total of 8 coaches, including AC Chair Car and Executive Class options, ensuring a comfortable travel experience. Additionally, the train is equipped with an advanced armor safety system and is designed to consume 25% less power, making it an environmentally friendly choice for travelers. This combination of high speed, direct routes, and modern amenities is expected to greatly benefit passengers traveling between Bhopal, Patna, and Lucknow.
