The Lucknow Division of Northern Railway and North Central Railway have announced a massive block for track maintenance between Kanpur and Lucknow. Starting from April 2 to May 13, 2026, the railway authorities will carry out sleeper replacement and track strengthening work on Bridge Number 110 near the Ganga river. This work is intended to increase train speeds and ensure passenger safety, but it will result in the cancellation of approximately 18 trains and the diversion of several premium express services.
Major Express and Passenger Trains Cancelled
A significant number of daily commuters will be affected as several MEMU and passenger trains have been pulled off the tracks for this 42-day period. The daily mega block is scheduled to take place between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM. The following trains are primarily affected:
- Prayagraj Sangam-Kanpur Anwarganj Passenger (54101-02)
