Incident of Stone Pelting on Vande Bharat Train

On Sunday morning, an anti-social element threw stones at the Vande Bharat train traveling from Delhi to Kanpur after it crossed Kamalpur station in Bulandshahr. The attack resulted in the shattering of a passenger’s glass window, raising serious concerns about passenger safety. Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad, who was on board the train at the time, expressed his shock and condemnation of the incident on social media, emphasizing the need for stricter measures to ensure the protection of railway property and passengers.

Response from Authorities

In light of the incident, MP Chandrashekhar has alerted the Railway Minister and the Railway Ministry, urging them to take action. Both the Railway police and local police have initiated a search for the individuals responsible for the stone pelting. The MP highlighted the broader implications of such incidents, stating that they not only damage government property but also instill a sense of insecurity among passengers, which is unacceptable in a civilized society.

Statistics and Safety Concerns

Bhim Arfi Chief referenced a report indicating that in 2022 alone, there were 1,503 similar incidents, which resulted in significant financial losses for the Railways. He called for immediate action from the Union Railway Minister and the Railway Police to curb these occurrences and raise public awareness about the importance of protecting railway infrastructure. The need for collective responsibility in safeguarding this vital national asset was underscored, as such acts not only threaten public safety but also tarnish the country’s image. Additionally, a tragic incident occurred in Etawah district where two individuals lost their lives while filming a stunt on the railway tracks, further highlighting the dangers associated with reckless behavior around trains.
