This weekly special train originally started from Gaya. Due to increasing passenger demand, the former DRM, Kamal Kishor Sinha, extended its route to Dhanbad. From January 2024, this train has been operating successfully between Dhanbad and Coimbatore.
Before launching the Amrit Bharat Express, the Dhanbad coaching depot is being upgraded. They are in the final stages of building a modern washing pit for maintenance of both Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains, which will improve service quality.
Additionally, they are expanding the size of the washing pit and adding more technical facilities. Plans are also in place to develop a new coaching depot on the southern side of Dhanbad station, which will boost maintenance capacity for modern trains.
