What’s inside:

This article discusses the malfunctioning automatic doors of Shatabdi Express trains and ongoing investigations into safety measures.

Recently, there have been issues with the automatic doors of the Shatabdi Express trains running through Ambala. Despite the railway’s investment in modern technology like ‘Kavach’ and automatic doors, these systems are not functioning as intended.

The trains, especially the Shatabdi Express, were supposed to enhance passenger safety similar to the Vande Bharat Express. However, during checks, it was found that the automatic doors fail to close properly, raising safety concerns.

Six Shatabdi Express trains operate between Kalka and New Delhi, passing through Ambala. Passengers have reported that the doors remain open even when the train is in motion, leading to dangerous situations where people try to board moving trains.

Senior officials, including the Senior DCM, are aware of the issue and have stated that investigations are underway. A committee was formed to look into a recent accident that involved a Shatabdi train, and they are also examining the door functionality.

A recent inspection of train number 12012 found that its doors did not close automatically when it left the platform. This raises questions about the effectiveness of the safety measures that were supposed to be in place, leaving many concerned about passenger safety.

Summary:

  • Shatabdi Express trains have malfunctioning automatic doors.

  • Safety investments by the railway are not yielding results.

  • Passengers are facing risks while trying to board moving trains.

  • An investigation committee is looking into recent incidents.

  • Immediate checks on door functionality are being conducted.
