Chennai Egmore railway station is undergoing redevelopment, so some express trains will start or end their journeys at Tambaram or Chennai Beach for a while. This change is taking place from September 10 to November 10.
Southern Railway has announced that certain trains will be diverted, and the Vande Bharat train services will also be adjusted. Passengers should take note of these changes to avoid any confusion.
For example, the Chennai Egmore – Tiruchy Rockfort Express will leave from Tambaram at 12.03 am starting September 11. Other trains like the Sethu Express and Pandian Express will also terminate at Tambaram instead of Chennai Egmore during this period.
Additionally, the Chennai Beach – Mumbai CSMT Express will now depart from Chennai Beach at 06.45 am. Other trains, such as the Tiruchy – Chennai Egmore Cholan Express, will continue as usual without any changes.
Passengers are advised to check their train schedules ahead of time. The new arrangements aim to ensure that travel continues smoothly during the station’s redevelopment.
