In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, members of the Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) gathered to discuss improvements in train services. They met on Friday to talk about starting a new train from Nanded to Mumbai, bringing back the Nagpur-Mumbai train, and introducing another service from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Mumbai.
Pradeep Kamle, the Divisional Railway Manager for Nanded, explained that every year, they send proposals to the headquarters for new trains. However, the final decision on these requests will be made by the central railway authorities and the Railway Board.
During the meeting, committee members discussed various issues affecting train stations and the need for new trains to North India. They also suggested adding extra coaches to certain express trains to accommodate more passengers. Ram Chavan, a member of the DRUCC, was elected to the Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) during this meeting.
The DRM shared some achievements from the past year, including the launch of the Nanded-Firozpur Express and the expansion of Vande Bharat Express services. Improvements at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Jalna stations have also been made, along with the development of 15 stations under the Amrut Bharat scheme.
Looking ahead, the division has introduced prepaid air-conditioned waiting lounges at Nanded and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar stations. They have also provided battery-operated luggage carts for passenger convenience. The railway officials will continue to submit proposals for new services to improve travel for everyone.
