What’s inside:

This article talks about the resumption of long-distance trains in Jammu, including the Vande Bharat Express, and the cancellation of others.

In Jammu, starting from April, four long-distance trains will be back on track. This includes the popular New Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express. However, there will still be some cancellations for around 20 trains for the next two to three months.

Officials have confirmed that two Vande Bharat Express services between New Delhi and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Katra will resume in April. Additionally, some other trains will operate with short-term changes, either starting or terminating at different stations.

From April 1, services between Bhagat Ki Kothi in Rajasthan and Jammu Tawi will restart. The return service will begin the next day. Passengers should keep in mind that some long-distance trains, including Poorva Express and Duronto, will remain canceled for a while.

Travelers are advised to check the latest updates on their train status through the official Indian Railways website or helplines before traveling. Last year, heavy rains caused damage to tracks and bridges, leading to the suspension of over 50 trains.

Most of the suspended trains have since been restored. Railway officials are continuously reviewing different sections to ensure safety and are gradually bringing services back to normal.

Summary:

  • Four long-distance trains, including Vande Bharat, will resume in Jammu from April.

  • 20 trains will remain canceled for the next few months.

  • Passengers should check train statuses online before traveling.

  • Heavy rains last year caused the suspension of many trains.

  • Most suspended trains have been restored and services are being reviewed.
