On Tuesday, a group from the Giridih Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi. They talked about important railway needs for Giridih and nearby places.
During the meeting, they agreed to operate the Howrah-Gaya Vande Bharat Express three days a week through New Giridih. This is expected to provide better and faster train services to areas like Giridih, Parasnath, and Koderma.
Additionally, there was a proposal to run the Deoghar-Jasidih-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express on the same route, which will connect major religious sites like Baba Dham and Kashi Vishwanath.
The delegation also requested to run the Delhi-Godda Express three days a week, as the current service is overcrowded. The Railway Minister responded positively to this request.
They discussed expanding freight facilities at New Giridih station and making it a key logistics hub. The Minister assured that work would start soon on the Maheshmunda rake point, which is still pending construction.
