Heavy rainfall in Punjab is causing major delays in train services, affecting many passengers.



Punjab is experiencing heavy rain, and it has badly affected train services throughout the region. Many trains coming from Amritsar were delayed on Monday, leading to significant inconvenience for travelers.

Due to the downpour, some trains are running late by 2 to 6 hours. For example, the Akal Takht Express was delayed by half an hour, while the Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat Express took an extra two and a half hours. Other trains like Sachkhand Express and Durgania Express faced delays of four hours each.


Passengers using the Amritsar-Delhi Express had to wait five hours, and the Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express was delayed by four and a half hours. Other affected services included the Jan Seva Express and Pathankot-Delhi Express, both running late by two to four hours.

The Senior DCM Ambala mentioned that the bad weather is causing these delays. To ensure safety, trains are being run at slower speeds. This is a precaution to avoid any untoward incidents during the adverse weather conditions.


Once the weather improves, train services are expected to return to normal soon. Passengers are advised to stay updated on train schedules and plan their journeys accordingly.
