The Vande Bharat Express is making a big difference in train travel across India. Since it started in 2019, these trains have been packed with passengers. Recently, Indian Railways has added a new stop for the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express at a station in Bihar.
This train was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, 2022, and has been running commercially since January 1, 2023. With this new update, the train will now stop at Kishanganj railway station in addition to its previous stops.
The Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express travels a distance of 562 km and takes about 7 and a half hours to reach its destination. It departs from Howrah at 5:55 AM and arrives in New Jalpaiguri at 1:25 PM. On the way back, it leaves NJP at 3:00 PM and comes back to Howrah by 10:30 PM.
This train has 16 coaches and offers two types of seating: AC Chair Cars and Executive Chair Cars. The ticket price for an AC Chair Car is Rs 1575, while an Executive Chair Car ticket costs Rs 2835.
The addition of the Kishanganj stop will help meet the growing passenger demand and improve travel options between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri. With its speed and comfort, the Vande Bharat Express is quickly becoming a popular choice for travelers.
