Indian Railways has changed ticket booking rules for Vande Bharat Express trains during Diwali and Chhath festivals to ease travel for passengers.
Indian Railways has made an important announcement to help passengers traveling during Diwali and Chhath festivals. Starting from now, travelers can book tickets for some selected Vande Bharat Express trains until just 15 minutes before the train departs.
This new rule is specifically for certain routes operated by the Southern Railway. The aim is to accommodate last-minute travelers who often struggle to find tickets during peak travel times.
The changes apply to several Vande Bharat routes including Nagarkovil to Chennai Egmore, Coimbatore to Bengaluru, and Chennai Egmore to Nagarkovil, among others. Passengers can book these tickets online via the IRCTC website or the Rail Connect mobile app.
Currently, over 75 Vande Bharat Express trains are running across the country. These trains operate in various cities, often fully booked, especially during busy hours. Recently, services have also started in the Kashmir Valley, connecting Katra to Srinagar.
Travelers are encouraged to take advantage of this new booking flexibility. By allowing reservations so close to departure, it aims to make travel plans easier and more accessible for everyone during the festive season.
