Indian Railways has launched a new food menu for passengers traveling during Navratri. This menu focuses on ‘saatvik’ or fasting-friendly food, making it easier for those observing fasts while on the train.

The new menu includes various items such as sabudana (sago), jeera aloo (cumin potatoes), aloo tikki (potato fritters), sabudana khichdi, and delicious desserts like malai burfi. Passengers can now enjoy meals that are suitable for their fasting rituals.


Travelers can book these meals through the IRCTC e-catering website or app. Prices for the saatvik thalis range from ₹100 to ₹200, with options for online payment or cash on delivery. Once ordered, the food will be delivered right to the passenger’s seat at their station.
