What’s inside:

Indian Railways is restoring train stoppages at key stations in Odisha and nearby areas starting from September 2025.

Indian Railways has shared some good news! Starting from September 1, 2025, they will gradually bring back train stoppages at important stations in Odisha and surrounding states. This move is in response to requests from the public and local leaders to make travel easier for everyone.

Many of the trains returning to these stops serve important places like pilgrimage sites, industrial towns, and border areas. This change is expected to reduce the burden on road transport and help people reach their destinations more conveniently from smaller stations.

From September 1, several trains will have their halts restored. This includes the Puri–Shalimar Dhauli Express at Markona and the Titlagarh–Howrah Ispat Express at Bagdehi, among others. The Railways has recommended that travelers check the updated schedules and plan their trips based on these changes.

In addition, the Rourkela–Howrah Vande Bharat Express is set to expand from 8 coaches to 16. This upgrade is part of a larger effort by the Railway Board to increase capacity on busy routes, as trains have been running full due to high demand.

As the phased restoration of stoppages rolls out, passengers will see these changes reflected in online timetables and ticketing systems. It’s a positive step for improving train connectivity in the region.

Summary:

  • Train stoppages will resume at key stations in Odisha from September 1, 2025.

  • New stops are added for trains linking important travel destinations.

  • Travelers are advised to check updated schedules and plan accordingly.

  • Rourkela–Howrah Vande Bharat Express will increase its capacity.

  • Changes will be updated in online systems gradually.
