Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has shared some exciting news about the Vande Bharat sleeper train. He mentioned that a few improvements are being made to the first sleeper train of the country. The train is expected to start running for passengers in December after these upgrades.

During testing, some minor issues were found related to the bogies and seats. The team is currently fixing these problems. The Minister emphasized that they want to create a great train that makes travel comfortable for passengers without taking shortcuts.


As for the changes being made, emergency alarm buttons are being relocated for better accessibility. Additionally, the air conditioning ducts will be shifted to a more effective position, and special cables for fire safety will be installed. These adjustments are in line with European safety standards.

The launch of the Vande Bharat sleeper train has been postponed several times before, with the latest date being October 15. However, it is now confirmed that the train will be ready by December. The BEML company is working on ten sleeper trains, with the first prototype being extensively tested for quality.


Safety and comfort are top priorities for the railway, which is why even small changes are being thoroughly addressed. Passengers are eagerly waiting for the launch, which promises to make long-distance travel safer and more comfortable.
