The electrification project between Mangalore Central and Subrhamanya Road stations has been successfully completed. Passengers can expect three train services during the morning, afternoon, and night, all powered by electric engines.
From September 15, travelers can catch the morning train from Mangalore Central to Subrhamanya Road, which will return to Mangalore after its trip. There will also be trains in the afternoon and evening for added convenience.
All necessary preparations for the electric trains have been made. Power lines have been installed along the tracks, ensuring a smooth connection with the engines. Recently, a successful trial run of the electric engine took place between Mangalore and Subrhamanya Road.
In the future, the electrification work between Subrhamanya Road, Edakumari, and Hassan will allow for electric trains on the Mangalore-Bangalore route as well. This will pave the way for the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express train service between these two cities.
