Indian Railways is making some changes to the Vande Bharat Express trains by adding more coaches. This decision is aimed at increasing the number of seats available and ensuring a comfortable journey for passengers.

The 30th Vande Bharat Express train was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 24, 2023, running between Kasaragod and Thiruvananthapuram. In March 2024, the route was extended to Mangaluru Central, and now, more coaches will be added to meet rising passenger demand.


Starting from September 9, 2025, the Mangaluru Central–Thiruvananthapuram Central train will have a total of 20 coaches. This change will increase the seating capacity from 1,128 to 1,440 seats, making it easier for more passengers to travel.

The train service will include 16 Chair Car Coaches and 2 Executive Class Coaches, providing passengers with comfortable options. Currently, there are 150 Vande Bharat Express trains operating across India, featuring modern amenities and advanced safety features.


With the addition of more coaches, the Vande Bharat Express aims to cater better to the needs of commuters. Passengers can look forward to a more spacious and comfortable travel experience starting in 2025.
