Bhagalpur is getting a new pitline for the maintenance of Vande Bharat trains. This facility is almost ready, and the railway has stopped train services until September 28 to finish the work. Earlier, train maintenance was done at Jamalpur and Malda.
The new pitline is designed specifically for the Vande Bharat rakes. It is currently undergoing testing to sort out any potential issues. A significant part of the pitline, which is 60 meters long, has been rebuilt to fix a curve that was at 12.5 degrees.
Passengers should note that train services will not be available until the 28th of September. Once the pitline is operational, it will improve maintenance efficiency for the trains. MP Ajay Mandal has also requested a new Vande Bharat train service from Bhagalpur to Delhi.
The construction of this pitline cost ₹32 crore and was managed by WPO. The aim is to ensure that the Vande Bharat trains are well-maintained and can operate smoothly for passengers traveling to various destinations.
In the coming days, the railway authorities will complete the testing and maintenance work. After September 28, train services are expected to resume, providing better connectivity for travelers from Bhagalpur.
