A new train called the Sairang Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express has been approved to connect Jamalpur and Bhagalpur directly with Mizoram and Anand Vihar. This weekly train service will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The railway board in New Delhi has confirmed the train’s schedule, which will stop at Jamalpur and Bhagalpur. However, it will not stop at Kiyul. The new train aims to make travel easier for local passengers heading to and from these regions.
The Sairang Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express will run three days a week, covering a distance of 2,510 kilometers. The journey will start every Friday and Sunday, bringing better connectivity for the people.
The train will begin its journey from Sairang at 4:30 PM on Fridays, making stops at various locations before reaching Anand Vihar at 10:50 AM on Sundays. The return journey will start from Anand Vihar at 7:50 PM on Sundays.
PM Modi is expected to launch this service soon, with the opening of the Bairabi-Sairang railway line on September 13. This will connect the state’s capital, Aizawl, to the Indian railway network for the first time.
