The Pune–Ajni (Nagpur) Vande Bharat Express has had a fantastic run during the festive season. From October 17 to 28, this train saw an amazing occupancy rate of 145%, carrying over 14,000 passengers in just 12 days.

This service generated ₹2.63 crore in earnings, making it the top performer of all Vande Bharat routes in the Pune division during Diwali. The popularity of this train shows that more travelers are choosing speed and comfort over traditional travel methods.


During this period, the Pune–Ajni route outperformed other Vande Bharat services from Pune. While the Pune–Kolhapur route carried 4,466 passengers, and the Pune–Hubli route had 4,958, the Pune–Ajni train stood out with 14,387 passengers.

Railway officials noted that all Vande Bharat trains from Pune ran on time, thanks to careful planning. To manage the high demand, extra coaches and crowd control measures were implemented to ensure smooth travel.


The success of the Pune–Nagpur route highlights a shift in travel preferences, with passengers willing to pay more for quality service and shorter travel times. This sets a new standard for the festive season and opens doors for future route expansions.
