The Indian Railways is taking steps to ensure trains run on time despite heavy fog. Extra coaches are being added for smooth operations.
Indian Railways is making efforts to keep train services running smoothly during the dense fog. To tackle this issue, they are increasing monitoring at the zonal and division levels.
Railway Board has instructed the General Managers of Northern, North Eastern, and North Central Railways to check the real-time status of trains and address any passenger issues immediately, especially regarding food services.
To help with this, additional coaches are being provided for Vande Bharat and Shatabdi trains. For example, a 20-coach Vande Bharat rake is being used for the New Delhi-Varanasi service to ensure it departs on time.
Moreover, two AC rakes are being prepared from coaches available in Eastern and Southern Railways. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will manage catering services for these extra coaches.
Additionally, a ‘war room’ is being set up at IRCTC to keep a close watch on trains and solve any food-related problems for passengers quickly.
